Hello my dreamers,
How was your first month of 2021?
Sometimes, it’s hard to stay positive in any situation (I’m not a perfect example, by the way, ^^”), especially since the pandemic, which seems to be endless, with the addition of lockdowns and curfews. That’s why in this article I’m going to try to answer the question “how to be positive?”. I think this is a good time to try to send you some good vibes!
Here, it’s not going to be about actions but rather reflections first, to realize that there is plenty of positive in our life. Deep reflections that we must have while being posed, relaxed and unoccupied to properly let our brains do all the work they need to do.
I’m certainly going to write things that you are already aware of, but sometimes it is important to regularly hear them or read them slowly and carefully to integrate them well and prevent them from fading from our minds.
This is not an exhaustive list but in my opinion, to stay positive, we must not forget:
- that life is a gift, that we must live well each day because each past day will not return.
- that nature is extraordinary because the sun rises every day without exception to enlighten us, to warm us, to make our plants grow; because a tiny seed planted can turn into delicious food that we can eat; because we share the planet with other living beings of thousands of different species, animals, which are fascinating creatures (besides I have always thought that many of them were made of fur/feathers not only to keep them warm but so that we humans, can also stroke and cuddle them ☺️); because we can give birth and save lives.
- how fortunate we are not to be in a country at war (by that I mean that we can sleep peacefully because we don’t risk our lives every day, we don’t flee to survive), to be in a relatively free country where we have rights.
- how fortunate we are to have everything we need to meet our basic needs, to feed us, to warm us, to protect us with a roof over our heads.
- how fortunate we are to be healthy because nothing is more important, to have all of our senses, all of our limbs, all of our physical and mental abilities.
- how even more fortunate we are to have the luxury of being able to have fun thanks to leisure activities, to be able to travel, to own material things that are not essential to our survival…
- how fortunate we are to have access to things that we take for granted such as access to drinking water, electricity, gas, education, culture, social welfare, or even the internet…
- how fortunate we are to have a job, no matter what it is and what it earns, especially if it’s a job we like.
- how fortunate we are to have a family, especially in good health, because nothing is more precious than family and many don’t have one.
- how fortunate we are to have friends, especially in good health, these people we did not know before, with whom we do not share any blood connection but who love us, who are there for us and who bring us a balance, because some people have absolutely no one to talk to.
- how fortunate we are to know or even to have already known love because some have never known it or will never know it.
- that we are not the only ones with problems (some hide theirs very well), that often, our problems are not that serious in hindsight, that they are not worth worrying so much, that there are always people with worse problems than ours, and that “everything” always ends up getting better sooner or later.
- that the majority of people are good but the bad ones are more often noticed.
- how fortunate we are that art exists (in all its possible forms), that we are endowed with an artistic sensibility that allows us to create things that exist only in our own mind, that we can feel things just by looking, listening, reading, touching something. Art is the pinch of magic that makes our life lighter.
- that our body and our mind can heal, that we are able to move forward, to evolve physically and mentally, to change things, to take charge of our life.
Personally, it was not natural for me to regularly think about these positive things but since I think about them more often and try to be grateful daily for all the good in my existence and in life in general, sincerely, I feel better, more serene, lighter, happier.
And you, how do you stay positive?
Also, don’t hesitate to tell me if reading all of this made you think or brought you anything positive 🙂
